VR experience for HTC Vive

A VIRTUAL REALITY VOYAGE THROUGH THE SKY

Suspended in mid-air and surrounded on all sides by the work, condensation trails rush towards the viewer shaping an apocalyptic outlook in 360 degree. The assembly and dissolution of those streaks shift between an abstract composition and immersive environment. The falling formations and patterns give an association to the impact of meteorites and rockets. The ‘apocalyptic’ moment of erasure is continuously repeating itself in slight variations of similar movements.     An atmospheric slow-pulsating soundtrack alongside the reduced visual black and white scenery keeps the audience in a controlled stream of perception; they are passively lost in the middle of a dystopian sculpture with deliberate limitations on control.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Since 2011 Andreas Greiner (*1979, Aachen) and Armin Keplinger (*1982, Linz) collaborate as the artist duo A / A. Central to their artistic practice is the exploration of time based media: The artists consistently focus on the transitional moment of materials when changing their state of aggregation to a solid, liquid or aerially one. A / A ’s sculptural works are characterized by movement and ephemerality. During the last years, the artists increasingly worked on the interface between analogue and virtual space, and particularly on VR.
