VR experience for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest

You developed a hunter instinct, you should want to eat me and I should want to be devoured. You are sitting in the corner of the room staring at my body, I am meat, created to be appetizing for you. Even when none sees me, I am not alone: I am there staring at myself. One day, when I am not worthy to be stared at neither by you nor by me, when my meat starts to slowly lose its tightness, I will most probably hide under the shadow of age, I will tell myself that I am not worth being a public person anymore. I desire to break the cycle, that is why I created this piece, because I want to be the one seating in the corner of the room judging you, not only frozen food left out to defrost in the aluminum kitchen sink.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Eva Ingver Gimenez is a Uruguayan multidisciplinary artist born in 2002. Her interest in duality, specifically the limits within organic and synthetic, started from a mainly material-based perspective, expanding later towards a feminist and queer-based analysis of human emotion. This approach tries to recognize the impact of “synthetic” social expectations concerning all that is alive, from moss to human beings. She is interested in finding the gray areas within the imposed taxonomic category-based view of existence, seeking to make people feel empathy to situations/beings, by highlighting unity. She aims to make her art a vulnerable exposure of both struggles and liberation that resonate with her. In her art, she explores materiality, femininity, and sustainability, through an aesthetically rich Uruguayan identity in mediums such as photography, sculpture, fashion, and lately VR. Eva studied in Canada for two years, and she is currently doing her Bachelor’s degree in Berlin.
