Disarray, 2018

VR experience for HTC Vive

A multiversal labyrinth of collective events, which seems to be characterized by repetition yet is distinguished by its narrative content through the interaction of the user. With each connection and each leap into a subsequent multiverse, each user sets forth on their own (narrative) odyssey on rough sea. Due to the technological progress and the associated spread of mass media, today one is constantly exposed to the rapidly growing flood of information. The heavier the tides rise, the more you seal yourself off with carefully collected pieces of information. Cultures, communities and individuals surround themselves in echo bubbles that conform to their world view and harden, the more the mass of information from outside presses onto them. Fearing that their constructed worldview will be destroyed, any influence that does not correspond to the fragmented interpretation is censored. "We are blurring out of reality", facts are subordinated, comfort is priority. With Disarray, the change between excess and isolation is intensified and new input infused. The interaction of the user builds the bubble on 3 basic building blocks a story narrative: figure, transformation, diegese. By switching between interaction, observation and the totality of influences, the orientation reflex is increasingly triggered.

Consume - forget - consume - forget: wash, rinse, repeat.
